قسمتی از فضای چاه که بین کف بالاترین طبقه توقف آسانسور تا زیر سقف چاه قرار دارد.
– وقتی وزنه تعادل روی ضربهگیر فشرده شده قرار دارد، چهار وضعیت زیر باید بطور همزمان برقرار باشند:
الف) طول ریلهای راهنمای کابین باید حرکت آن را به مقدار اضافی حداقل برابر با 
برحسب متر را تامین نماید؛
ب) فاصله عمودی آزاد بین بالاترین نقطه از سطح سقف کابین که ابعاد آن مطابق با بند ۸-۱۳-۲ میباشد و پایینترین نقطه متناظر سقف چاه (شامل تیرکها و اجزای مستقر در زیر سقف چاه) که در تصویر هندسی سقف کابین بر زیر سقف چاه قرار گرفته باید حداقل معادل با 
بر حسب متر باشد؛
پ) فاصله آزاد عمودی بین پایین ترین نقطه سقف چاه و:
۱- بالاترین قسمتهای تجهیزات نصب شده بر روی سقف کابین بجز آنهایی که در ردیف ۲ ذکر گردیده، باید حداقل 
بر حسب متر باشد؛
۲- بالاترین قسمت کفشکهای لغزشی یا کفشکهای غلطکی، اتصالات طنابهای فولادی، سردر و یا قطعات درهای کشویی عمودی، باید حداقل برابر 
بر حسب متر، باشد؛
ت) در بالای سقف کابین باید فضای کافی برای جا دادن مکعبی فرضی به ابعاد حداقل ۰/۸ متر × ۰/۶متر × ۰/۵ متر روی یکی از وجوه آن، موجود باشد. برای آسانسورهای با سیستم طناب بندی مستقیم (یک به یک) طنابهای فولادی آویز و متعلقات آنها می توانند در این فضا قرار گیرند به شرط آنکه فاصله خط مرکزی هیچ طنابهای فولادی از یکی از سطوح عمودی مکعب بیشتر از ۰/۱۵ m نشود.
۸-۱۳-۲ روی سقف کابین باید فضای بازی به مساحت حداقل ۰/۱۲ متر مربع برای ایستادن وجود داشته باشد، بطوریکه کوچکترین ضلع آن کمتر از ۰/۲۵ متر نباشد.

۵٫۷٫۱٫۱ When the counterweight rests on its fully compressed buffer(s), the following four conditions shall
be satisfied at the same time:
a) the car guide rail lengths shall be such as would accommodate a further guided travel, expressed in
metres, of at least 0,1 + 0,035 v2 )
b) the free vertical distance between the level of the highest area on the car roof whose dimensions comply
with 8.13.2 (areas on parts according to 5.7.1.1 c) excluded) and the level of the lowest part of the ceiling
of the well (including beams and components located under the ceiling) situated in the projection of the
car, expressed in metres, shall be at least 1,0 + 0,035 v2;
c) the free vertical distance, expressed in metres, between the lowest parts of the ceiling of the well and:
۱) the highest pieces of equipment fixed on the roof of the car enclosure, except for those covered in 2)
below, shall be at least 0,3 + 0,035 v2;
۲) the highest part of the guide shoes or rollers, of the rope attachments and of the header or parts of
vertically sliding doors, if any, shall be at least 0,1 + 0,035 v2;
d) there shall be above the car sufficient space to accommodate a rectangular block not less than
۰,۵۰ m x 0,60 m x 0,80 m resting on one of its faces. For lifts with direct roping, the suspension ropes and
their attachments may be included in this space, provided that no rope centre-line shall be at a distance
exceeding 0,15 m from at least one vertical surface of the block
